On April 9th we went on a hiking trip. At 9.30am we drove from our school to the nearby village Ehrenfriedersdorf. We collected some provisions for the day and then started our hike up the mountain together with our caregiver’s dog Blacky. We walked through a wide field towards the forest. The trees were so tall that one could not see the sky. Soon after, we arrived at a fresh water spring and we all tried the cold water. I used my thermos mug and Blacky drank right out of the Spring next to me. It was a hot day and the water was cold and refreshing. We walked further through the forest and soon after reached a viewing platform. Up there we could see the entire Ore Mountains, which surprised me a lot. We were up on the Greifensteine and visited the open-air theatre and took some photos. As I am afraid of heights, I felt a bit uneasy during this time. We continued our hike, but soon I had a little accident. One of my fellow students wanted to make fun of me and tied a rope around my backpack. He started to run in another direction without me noticing and I stumbled from the abrupt impact. Luckily, we had a first aid kit with us and could bandage my wounds quickly, but it did hurt for me to walk for a longer period of time. One of the students had carried a skateboard with him and I sat on it while the others pushed me down the hill. We walked across a river and finally arrived at a lake where we ate our supplies and played at a nearby playground. We took a lot of photos during the entire trip and even though the hike had been quite tiring, we had a lot of fun during the hike. In the afternoon we ended the field trip with a BBQ. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and because of my little accident I will probably remember it for a long long time.
